Routine Command. In order to make the Alexa Routine work, you need to
install the Alexa app on your device and complete the Amazon Echo setup
via alexa.amazon.com/setup. Below, we are sharing the simple guidelines that can help you to set up the Alexa Routine fro your Amazon Echo devices.
Step by Step Instructions to Setup the Alexa Routine
- Open the Amazon Alexa App on your device.
- Click on the Hamburger Icon present on the top-left corner of the application screen.
- Choose ‘Routines’.
- Now, you need to tap on the ‘+’ icon present on the top-right corner of the application screen.
- After this, you have to create a trigger. To create the trigger, you need to click on the ‘+’ icon present besides the option ‘What This Happens’.
- In the next screen, you have to select when and at what time the trigger will happen. For example - when you reached home, when you have pressed the Echo button or when the other smart devices take any action.
- The step will be depending on the option you have chosen. For example, if we choose ‘schedule’, you need to mention the particular time when the routine needs to be activated.
- You will get more options like ‘Select Days’ - Every Day, Weekends, Weekdays, or you can ‘Select day’ from Monday to Sunday.
- Confirm the Date and Time or Days when you want to activate the routine.
- Click on ‘Done’ option.
- You can also add action to the created routine. For this, you can click on the ‘+’ icon beside the ‘Add Action’ option.
- Choose the action that you want the Amazon Alexa to perform on a particular routine. Action may be like ‘playing music’, ‘saying a phrase’, ‘checking weather’, ‘reading news updates’, and ‘setting an alarm or timer’, or any other events.
