Check for Microphone
Button
Echo Dot does not respond to your voice commands if the microphone button is turned off. So, make sure that it is turned on. This button is at the top of Echo Dot device with MIC symbol. Just press that button and ask your device about the weather. If this solution does not work for you, proceed further to the next troubleshooting step.
Restart the Echo
Dot
If your Echo Dot device is
unresponsive, hard reset the device to troubleshoot the error:
- Find the reset button present at the bottom of Echo Dot device and press this button using the pin or paper clip.
- Once you press the button, you will see the blue light ring on Echo Dot device turns to orange.
- Wait till the device gets turned off and then turn it on again. Your Echo Dot will reset to the original settings.
- Now, you have to set up the device using the Amazon Echo app on your smartphone.
