  • Wait until your Echo dot device appears on the smartphone device and choose it.  You will be prompted for the Wireless settings. Once you are there, choose the network named as ‘Amazon XXX’ and get back to the Alexa app. 
  • Select the wireless network you would like to connect for the Echo Dot device. Type the password ( if necessary). 
  • Choose the External speaker that your device will be using. If you do not want to connect your device to the external speaker, you can skip the step. 
  • Select the room where the device is present.

To give the command to your Echo Dot device, you need to use the Wake word. By default, the wake word is ‘Alexa’. But, if you want, you can change the wake word and choose the one from the available option. Just use the wake word following your command and you will be able to use the Alexa services.
